One of the first wineries in the Napa Valley, Groezinger Winery was built in 1870 in Yountville just north of the town of Napa. Despite changing hands over the years it continued operating as a winery until 1955, then in 1968 this historic collection of three lovely old brick buildings was restored and converted into Napa Valley’s most beautiful and inviting retail location, V Marketplace. Surrounded by lush picnic gardens, beautiful water features and meandering cobblestone walkways visitors will find a collection of unique specialty shops that include clothing for men, women and children of all ages, an inviting home and garden shop, and gift shops that offer a range of items from the simple souvenir, locally sourced bath and body products, to romantic bedding. There are three distinctive art galleries that offer fine art, photography, sculptures, glass art, jewelry and more. Visitors will find a complete wine cellar offering an inviting wine environment that will please novices and aficionados alike with a choice of a wine bar or a cozy lounge where guests can savor and experience the world of wine with expert advice from a knowledgeable staff. V Marketplace is home to Napa Valley’s original hot air balloon company which launches daily, weather permitting from the property. There are various wine country eateries ranging from casual and easy-going burger and Panini cafés to Emmy-award winning Chef Michael Chiarello’s Bottega offering rustic farm-to-table Italian cuisine.
